Why Choose Albion?
Albion has become a premier destination for children and families from the local area and beyond...
Albion Primary School is an inclusive multicultural school that is at the centre of the community and serves children from 3 years old to 11 years old. Being an ethnically diverse community affords opportunities for children to experience an enriched and cooperative environment. Individuality and teamwork are both celebrated in creative ways that stimulate active and inquisitive minds.
Albion has become a premier destination for children and families from the local area and beyond—a hub for accelerated education, community spirit, and excellence. Albion provides enhanced and challenging curricula in creative arts, foreign languages, math, science, history, geography, RE, DT, PE and computing. In addition, the children have had the opportunity to participate in math, computing, RE and PE competitions. At Albion we aim high and provide opportunities for our children and staff that may not necessarily occur in other primary schools: for instance 8 children from Year 5 travelled to Hangzhou, China, to experience the culture and life in a Chinese school.
Facilities
It is an exciting time to be at Albion with our state-of-the-art new building. The atmosphere is bright, stimulating, airy and spacious giving a perfect learning and teaching space for all. As well as there being 17 classrooms, there is a large hall, dance studio, counselling room, 6 group rooms, a forest school and garden area which houses our 8 chickens, a playground, a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) and to top it off a beautiful rooftop playground/outdoor learning space.

Memorable Experiences
At Albion we encourage our children to celebrate each other, both day to day in the classroom, and through regular achievement assemblies. We are also proud to run the Pupil Headteacher initiative, where two children are elected by their peers to lead the school for the day, linking to the British Values aspect of our curriculum.
We provide memorable experiences for our children within our curriculum both in school and out. We enrich our curriculum not only through our excellent class teachers, but with our subject specialists who have in-depth expertise in their field.
We value creativity. Our children are currently taught art in small groups by our own art teacher, dance by DDMIX (Diverse Dance Mix - a Darcey Bussell dance company), steel pans, African drumming, singing and music with our Southwark Music Hub teacher.
We also have specialist coaches to teach physical education from The PE & Schools Sports Network and Teachsport, as well as gardening and "Caring for our Chickens" sessions with our gardener.
Partnerships
The staff at Albion are passionate and fully invested in providing children with the best education possible and feel extremely proud to be part of the child’s educational and pastoral growth. At Albion training is provided to staff in order for them to fulfil their roles successfully.
Developing a partnership between parents/carers, teachers and students is of the utmost importance. When we all take an active role in our children’s education, great strides are made. Open communication between the school and parents/carers is an essential piece in this partnership jigsaw. We have the following forms of communication available: face to face at the beginning or end of the school day, telephone, email, website and text messaging. We will be utilizing all these methods throughout the year to provide you with up to date information.
Wrap-around Care
At Albion, we provide Extended Services which comprise of a breakfast club from 8.00am and after school care until 5.45pm. This wrap- around service provides parents/carers with the assurance that their children continue to enjoy themselves and are cared for whilst at school until they finish work. Children also have the opportunity to sign-up to the many enrichment clubs Albion has to offer: dance, PE, languages, radio, skateboarding and art to name a selection.
As the principal members of the school community, children are encouraged to take on roles and responsibilities in the classroom, across the school and in wider society. They participate in a wide range of school events and activities which support their all-round development and provide them with opportunities to model the Albion Values of: Ambition, Respect, Responsibility, Creativity, Kindness and Resilience.
