Remote Learning – Spring 2021 Lockdown

This webpage contains information regarding the Spring 2021 school closure and our remote learning offer.

Remote Education: 10 Top Tips for Pupils

We continue to offer online learning through Google Classroom where children can access work and communicate with the teacher. We have introduced ‘live’ sessions and provided children with timetables for the day. In order to:

  • give children and parents/carers more structure to learning at home every day,
  • avoids overwhelming students and parents/carers
  • support students and parents
  • engages more pupils
  • provide regular interactive contact between students and teaching staff

Remote Learning Class Timetables

To help children organise their day, we have created timetables to follow. It is important as it shows when children need to join their live sessions with their teacher and when to complete their independent tasks on Google Classroom.

Live sessions will be accessed through Google Classroom. It is important that children log on each morning and attend their sessions, submit their work, and sign into the register first thing in the morning. All live sessions will be recorded. This is ensuring every child has access to the learning eg. there may be siblings with limited access to shared device, sibling A can be present in the live session while sibling B can watch their recorded ‘live’ session later on in the day. These recordings will be found in the ‘Recordings’ folder within Google Classroom. Children can access these at any point in the day and watch the session and complete the work.

Remote Learning - 1st lockdown

The information below is linked to the first national lockdown in March 2020. Families can still use the resources to assist them during 2020-2021. Our new procedures (eg. using Google Classroom) can be found here and have already been shared with parents/carers.

Whilst school is closed or pupils are in self isolation, please check the remote learning pages for projects, tasks and learning activities for your child to complete at home.

Running alongside the activities set are the normal remote learning platforms such as Times Tables Rock Stars, Mathletics and TWINKL which has been extended (see information below).
