The Grand Finale!

It's here, the day we've been building up to all summer!
Friday marks the final day of Summer Club 2026, and we are going out with an absolute splash! After two weeks of laughter, mess, and memories, our last day is packed with activities designed to send every child home buzzing, proud, and just a little bit sandy.
Here's what our superstars got up to on their last hurrah:
Sand and Water Sensory Play
A firm favourite returns for the finale! Sensory play like this does wonders for young minds. It supports fine motor development, calms anxious energy, and encourages open-ended, imaginative thinking. There's no "wrong" way to play, which makes it perfect for building confidence in even our shyest club members.
Children's Choice Warm-Up & Exercises
We handed the reins over to the kids for this one! Letting children choose and lead their own warm-up builds leadership, decision-making, and body awareness. Plus it gets everyone's energy up for a big day ahead. Ownership over their own movement is a small but mighty confidence boost.
Hand Puppets Using Our Socks
Who knew a spare sock could become a storytelling star? This craft strengthens creativity and communication skills, as children invent characters and voices, act out little scenes, and practise expressing emotions through play. All while giving old socks a fabulous new life.
DIY Pony Bead Fish Keychain
Threading beads is brilliant for hand-eye coordination and fine motor precision, and following a pattern (or making up their own!). It also introduces early sequencing and planning skills. Best of all, the Children get to take home something they made with their own hands.
Smoothie Making
A tasty twist on food education! Smoothie making introduces healthy eating habits, basic measuring and following steps, and a little kitchen science as fruit transforms into something new. It's also a fantastic way to get fussy eaters excited about fruit and veg.
Design Your Own Pizza and Make a Real One
Big smiles guaranteed for this one. Designing then building a real pizza combines creativity with real-world maths (measuring toppings, portions, sharing) and food skills. Choice and ownership over their creation makes the eating part even sweeter.
Stingray Bracelet Arts & Crafts
Continuing our sea-life theme, this craft builds fine motor skills and pattern recognition, while giving children a wearable keepsake to remember Summer Club by.
Learn How to Make Popcorn
A hands-on introduction to simple cooking science: watching kernels pop teaches cause and effect and sparks natural curiosity, all while filling the room with the best smell of the summer.
Chalk Designs and Words
Big, bold, outdoor mark-making! Chalk art supports early literacy (for those practising letters and words) alongside gross motor development and free creative expression. Plus, it's endlessly satisfying to draw big.
Cars and Garage Play (Younger Children)
For our little ones, imaginative small-world play with cars and garages builds language skills through storytelling, along with early problem-solving as they figure out ramps, routes, and "traffic."
Dress Up as Your Favourite Sea Animal
And the perfect way to end our summer of sea-themed fun: dressing up builds imagination, confidence, and social play, as children step into character and interact with their friends in a whole new way.
Thank You for an Incredible Summer!
From sensory trays to pizza dough, sock puppets to sea creatures, this summer has been packed with learning disguised as pure, joyful play. A huge thank you to every child, parent, and carer who made Summer Club 2026 so special.
We can't wait to do it all again next year. Until then, have a wonderful summer!
One more thing! If your child attend this year's summer club and you'd like to give feedback you can do so here. Thank you.
APS Summer Club.
