Thank you so much to all the parents and carers who joined us for our Reception Information Morning on Monday 6th July. It was wonderful to welcome so many of you and to introduce you to the fantastic team who will be supporting your child's journey through Reception, led by Mrs Chawla and Ms Begum, alongside our EYFS SENCo Tegan Dempsey and Family Support Officer Suzette Browne. We shared how our curriculum is built around values-led learning, the EYFS framework, and a rich mix of phonics (Read Write Inc), Power Maths, and Talk for Writing, all delivered through carefully chosen topics and core stories. We also walked through what a typical day looks like, from soft start at 8.45am through to home time at 3.25pm, including free-flow learning, Forest School, and enrichment like music and Mandarin, alongside practical details on snacks, lunch, uniform and homework expectations.
For those who couldn't make it, please don't worry, here are the key takeaways. Attendance and punctuality really matter: the gate opens at 8.45am and closes promptly at 8.55am, and we ask that every child attends at least 96% of the time, with absences reported via the Studybugs App. Children will have a staggered start in September depending on whether they're new to Albion or moving up from our Nursery, so please check the specific dates that apply to your child. We also covered Extended Services (Breakfast Club and Extended Day) pricing and start dates, GDPR photo consent, and tips on building your child's independence at home with toileting, dressing, and getting excited for the year ahead.
