International Links

At Albion Primary School we have an outward vision, to prepare our children for the global world in which they will grow up.

At Albion, we believe in preparing students for success in an increasingly interconnected world. Our commitment to global education is evident through our globally-focused curriculum, and our ever-increasing network of international links.

Modern Foreign Languages: Mandarin

In today's interconnected world, proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a valuable asset. At Albion we understand the importance of linguistic diversity and offer Mandarin as our foreign language choice from EYFS through to Year 6.

Learning Mandarin not only opens doors to one of the world's oldest and richest cultures but also enhances students' competitiveness in the global job market.

Throughout their time at Albion, thanks to our bespoke curriculum and specialist teachers from the Confucius Institute, students gain a deeper understanding of China's language and culture, laying a strong foundation for future academic and career endeavours. Whether students aspire to pursue international business, diplomacy, or simply broaden their cultural horizons, our Mandarin program equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

We created a book in 2019, click below to read about our adventures when 8 children visited 3 schools in China.

International Links: Partnering for Progress

At Albion, we recognize the importance of collaboration in education. Through our increasing network of partner schools around the globe, we foster meaningful exchanges that enrich the learning experiences of both students and educators.

Partnering with schools in different countries allows us to exchange ideas and gain a unique insight into how our curriculum links to the modern reality of the countries we are studying. These partnerships provide students with unique opportunities to engage in cross-cultural dialogue, develop global competence, and cultivate lifelong friendships. We have successfully developed links with schools in China and Uganda and continue to expand our links across the globe, including Taiwan, America, and other global locations.

Whether through virtual exchanges, joint projects, or international student exchanges, our partnerships enable students to broaden their worldview, embrace cultural diversity, and become responsible global citizens.

Celebrating Diversity: Uniting Through International Events

At Albion, we also celebrate diversity as a cornerstone of our community. Our vibrant calendar of international events brings together students, families, and community members from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and belonging.

From highlighting multicultural festivals in assemblies to hosting international food fairs, our frequent program of events showcases the rich tapestry of cultures represented within our school community. Our students benefit from the opportunity to learn about and appreciate different customs, traditions, and perspectives, promoting mutual respect and understanding.

Our commitment to hosting international events also extends beyond the walls of our school, reaching out to the broader community. By opening our doors to neighbours and partners from near and far, we strengthen community bonds and cultivate a spirit of inclusivity and acceptance.

If you are a member of staff at an international school and are interested in setting up a collaborative curriculum link with Albion Primary School, we would love to hear from you!
